The roof of the Elks Club fell onto Cummings Menswear's third floor, which collapsed onto the second floor, which collapsed onto the first floor, which knocked down a little of Kreisler's Drug Store that is next to Cummings Menswear. There were people inside! My dad & I went outside when it was happening & we heard more sirens then we'd ever heard in this town. There were tons. And there were helicopters in the air. We were wondering what happened. Several people are being transported to hospitals right now. Kansas City is coming down to film what's going on, I think. Wow, my small little town is under the Breaking News. This is pretty huge for us considering nothing like this ever happens here. Haha, they interviewed one of the teen skater dudes in our town and he's like "I think what happened SUCKS." and he's drinking something from Sonic and wearing a Killers shirt. I just can't believe our small town is on CNN all over the USA, it's so surreal. Now Olde Glory Days is going to be tinged with sadness since Cummings Menswear is on the square & the Elks Lodge sponsored a lot of stuff. Not to mention Tony Komer was the leader of the Elks. He left behind a wife and two kids and I feel bad for them. Age thirty-two is too young to die. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060627/ap_on_re_us/building_collapse;_ylt=AvDphT68a.PzEaFd2pd.8kys0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA2Z2szazkxBHNlYwN0bQ--www.cnn.com/2006/US/06/26/building.collapse/index.html((Sorry I had to post this because my friend Michelle wouldn`t stop bugging me until I did.)))

That is so creepy.

It was about 100years old...they say thats why but I doubt it some how...there are other buildings that are older and about the same age and they are still standing and they`ve had millions of people walk in and out of them and have had club meetings and are still standing.Oh wel...I`ll go with 'it was a old building' idea and maybe the 'ironic because they were the main sponsor for Olde Glory Days.(A big carnival) and they were celebrating their 100th year and what not' They still have news vans on the square...and having people being interviewed and what not.
