.The only way to navigate Love. .Is to be lost within it.
There comes a time in everyones life where the guild is about you and a new sight is gained. You come to a fork in the road and you must choose between the two for you cannot wait here forever. About you is the thickening darkness, behind you the path last tred. So many memories, tears and scars ringed with laughter and flame echo about life and again you are asked to choose.
There may be a day when the decision, the right and wrong are as hard to see as the stars on the bleak of night, but never is there a fear in what is right. Somehow, within you is always the answer, all the wisdom, all the courage that you'll ever need is found inside. And this was all coming to be, like a ribbon ever unfurling in the lanterns of Crucifix.
Twas the eve now, the sky a hue of flame ringing about him. Everything about the cliffs was bathed in the brilliant light and he was no different. Splashed pelt of contrast sides was lit dimly as his aqua shaded pools gazed to the horizon. A long way he had tred, back over the distant hills and fall. But he didn't trek alone.
Coming to the flat cliff, he rested a moment and took a moment to gaze across the lands. Here the Herd lay beneath... about the cliff patches of grass and boulder lay, a quaint little area that he no longer shared alone. Caballo... he thought.
Staring back to the path where he came, he sensed she was coming and he waited. Soon enough she would see her new home for the first time... and again he was nervous. Perhaps it was because she was his first femme... yes... he was convinced that was it. Turning his gaze back to the cliff, he stared down below. His mind churned over what happened down in the claiming grounds and he felt the warmth blaze within him once more. Shaking his crown, he tried to rid the sense, but it only delayed a little and never left.
Whisking his banner against his hindquarts, Crucifix breathed the cooling aire and relaxed his bod. There was an unease somewhere about the area... somewhere in the far reaches of the lands; the alliance. His brow furrowed as he stared toward the lairs in the distance. He had heard of them... of Ishtar... What he would only do if they crossed here, if they came to Caballo, if they-. Wait... he paused his mind as he stared down at himself. His muscles were tensed and shaking... as if by some force of anger... was he this protective already?
Of course. Caballo still had her freedom... but he was in charge of her life. If harm came to her... he would be the one to blame. Bowing his crown, he closed his pools. Should a moment ever arise... he knew what he would do, but he pushed that from thought now. Surely Caballo would be at the top of the Cliff now. Turning his bod, he faced the entrance, and pulled a gently smile to his maw as he waited for the sun maiden to return home.
.It is neither a beast to be conquered. .Nor a thought to be cornered.

.I'm The Question.
Cream tresses cascaded down her stretched out nape, as her dial rhythmically lifted and descended. Short, hardly flowing strides were tiring, but easier to keep up. Caballo was never a femme with speed, even though all her ancestors had been graced with it. Running and speed was just something that never appealed to her and probably never will. The sensation of it, was just never felt, to Caballo it was just a way of transportation, not a gift. Actually, it was hardly a gift, if she was being chased by another equus, they would shoot past her with ease.
The wonderful colors of sunset splashed the cliff that was now in sight, and if you will right before her. She gratefully slowed her pace, until it was no more, just an old imprint in the humus that she traveled.Thickets clustered near the edge of the cliff, from there vegetation grew. First tall emerald grass, then soon foliage lifted from the earth. All of this beauty seemed to hide the edge of the cliff. Such a deadly trick, almost anyone could waltz in here and go off the Noble's Cliff without even knowing what hit them.
Hazel gaze observed the scenery with quite a lot of joy, each gaze behind her brought numerous new plants into the surrounds that painted right before her optics. Finally, blissful gaze landed on Crucifix. Who, she happened to be standing beside without even realizing that her pistons had brought her there. How rude she had been! Ignoring him this whole time while she took her sweet time observing the scenery surrounding her and him. An unsatisfied desire to move closer to seemed to urge her, but she held back. What if she frightened him? Wait, how could she frighten him if he was able to do the same? That only left one thing. What if she wasn't ready? Pushing the thought out of her crown, librums parted as her lyrics emitted into the airy atmosphere.
Hello Crucifix. Came her first lyrics, tis a beautiful land that you have in your possession.
.And Your Of Course The Answer.

.You are a guest in its presence. .A voyeur in the dark.
Lanterns glimpsed open and nerves jolted the still mind of the Beta. Relaxed boa muscled turned crown in toward Caballo, auds perked in her direction. The familiar warmth returned as she pulled in beside him and halted. The cliff was theirs to gaze upon, theirs to hold. Pulling his gaze higher yet to the peaks of Mountain Miracle, he knew there was a higher ruling even yet; Sun Chaser. A smile came to his maw as he stared, it had been a while since he saw the sun warrior, but he was sure they'd meet again in due time.
For now attention presented to him in the form of a maiden. Once a loner, and now a part of something as he now was. How strange these matters worked. There was always a rhyme and reason even when you saw them not. At the moment, Crucifix couldn't ask for a greater eve and another soul to share it with. Aqua shades churned again over Caballo as he took in her songs. The mountain breeze played with his loose tressicles and his banner wafted behind him in its multi hued array.
It's your abode now too, Crucifix whispered with an easing smile. Many days and nights now I've stood here admiring the views and ongoings. It's too spectacular of a place to share alone. For that I'm grateful the Beta Femora is pleased.
He nuzzled her nape as his last songs slipped from his maw. Gently, he turned and took a few paces to the survey the other parts of the cliff for a moment. Everything appeared to be in order from what he saw; yet the sense of a shadow still lingered in an annoying sort of sense. But there is nothing here. Now, no more fretting... he thought to himself. Nodding his head, as if agreeing with himself, he turned to face Caballo again from where he stood. The sun was on the horizon now, the hues of the painted canvas would fade into darkness soon.
It's getting late... perhaps we should retire for the night? he suggested. His auds swiveled a moment, catching the last notes of a lark in the trees below, the rustle of the winds against the brush. Everything was calming down, easing now into a lowly rest. He felt even in himself, the spell the night cast pulling on his brow til only Caballo was the last focused vision as the tainted skyes darkened.
.So feast not. .Rather be the feast.

.Love Draws Attention. .It Heals The Pain.
How grateful she was to be here, rather than in the lonely claiming grounds. Once again, she would say that she had made the right choice, the perfect choice. The two were reunited, even though they were never apart, well, yes they were. Yet, back then the couple didn't know each other, they lived in the same world without even turning to find each other. There was no danger, everything was completely in order, or was everything? There was a strange air to the night, seeming to cause her to shiver in fright. Well, she shouldn't be frightened with Crucifix nearby, but she couldn't help it.
The day was certainly turning old, the sunset was fading quickly into the horizon line, as the silver moon inched up the atmosphere, hoping to take its rightful place. Yes, it was time to turn in, for with darkness, came the deadly alliance. Yes, they held no real power in broad daylight, but in the darkness and security that the moon allowed them, they always conquered. A chilling breeze seeped into her unprepared short coat. She shivered once more, all warmth disappearing in the blink of an optic. Shuffling closer to Crucifix, her chilled hide brushed his, before settling upon it.
Affection lifted through her. Even when chill was impossible to keep for long. Embarrassment moved through her as soon as she realized one thing. Sleep? Where should she sleep? Was there a place she was meant to stay on her own in, or was she to stay with Crucifix. Confusion moved through her once calm thoughts. Okay, she was just alittle confused at the moment, so what? It's not like she had to mention this to Crucifix. Lyrics emitted from her maw, as she gave a reply to the steed beside her.
Yes, we should retire, the day is getting old.

.Worthy of legends. .For there is no sweeter ecstasy.
And the night grew weary then as the limped sun finally seeped across the sky. At last the darkness had come and drew it's drapery over the land like the comforter of the bed. The stars blinked in simotaneous motion and the moon raised it's timely orb ore the lands of the Mountain vale.
Crucifix sighed into the night air and breathed it in. The tension he stored away within himself as he perked harks to Caballo. The warmth returned to him as he felt her presence beside him once more. Gently, he pulled his boa over her spine and massaged her back, working his way up to her nape where he nuzzled her beneath her tresses. There was a serenity about the golden femora that he enjoyed... so quick everything had happened and so well it flew together, trully there was such thing as true love.
He pulled his pools back a moment to glimpse into her oasis'. He saw the many shimmering memories of her past, broken perhaps, but they were there and there would be many more they would share together. Should he be at fault for anymore shattered remenences of her past, it would sting his heart. Never could he hurt a soul like hers without hurting himself more.
Come... there's a safe grove over here farther from the edge. he whispered to her as he moved weary pistons over loose boulders. He came to an area where thick bushes were sprouting through the mountain soil. Secluded it was and close to a rock wall which reached over the grove somewhat. At one time, legend whispered to him that a herd once lived here perhaps... here the femme's rested, safely hidden away. Near the cliff, perhaps the stag would sleep to keep a watchful gaze over his family, but now it was just the two of them.
Stepping into the grove, Crucifix turned about a moment to survey it. It seemed well enough to him as he moved closer to the entrance again. For two equines, it would be best that they rested together... the cliff was safe, but he never underestimated things, even his own home. His nares flared as he took in Caballo's scent lingering as he stood near again to her.
This grotto is safe for rest, my lady. Please, come and rest yourself. I shall watch over you as you dwell further into dream. Crucifix whispered as his banner flicked at his barrels. Already, he could feel his joints locking, preparing for a night doze where he would rest and let auds remain in tact. There was a silence that he kept secret about himself... for while his pools weren't strong, his auds were sharp and could catch easily the slightest shuffle. His nares were no different and with that in mind he would monitor the night through. As long as there was a treasure here, he would defend it with all his life held... til death do us part.
Will that be alright with you? he asked gently.
.Than the nectar. .That is the yearning of your heart.

.Surprise It's Time To Feel What's Real. .What Happened To Miss Independent.
The bright stars twinkled playfully in the darkened sky. So many consolations could be drawn in the atmosphere. Yet, with beauty, came fright. The score would be lurking near and at any unexpected moment could slip out of the shadows and reveal themselves. For regardless of the place, they lurked, loitering from place to place, hoping to bring fight into ones dreams. The thought terrified her as her love, or as far as she was concerned he was, left her side to show the area where her slumbers would begin.
Tilting her bodice, she eagerly followed Crucifx, no objection could be found, though, she hardly would object to anything. Movements were tired and worn out, she almost stumbled several times, but she finally foudn herself by his side once more. Optics peered into the cozy grove that was presented to her. The grove was just perfect for two equus to stay in, or at least she thought that they would be staying together. Actually, she really hoped that he would stay with her.
The grove seemed comfortable from afar, and it was far better than anything she had found when she was on her own. Then again, she just lay to rest in the simple meadows of the claiming grounds before moving to the next valley, mountain range, well, anything for that matter. Lyrics crept past her open librums, touching the bitterly cold oxygen.
Of course it is. It's far better than anything I have found in the past.
She whispered quietly. Caballo was quite unsure of if she was allowed to move into the grove. Yes, she was the beta femme, or at least she assumed so, which was not a very intelligent move. Crucifix still had power over her, and at any moment, at any wrong move, he could drive her away without the least bit of hesitence. Nonetheless, a slumber was well needed, for right at this moment, she could easily drop to the ground and be fast asleep before she was even comfortable.
Squeezing into the grove, she felt her joints wish to let the weight of her figure fall to the glebe. There was no point in resisting it, for any moment she could buckle. Carefully, she lowered herself to the soft humus, limbs folding below her until she reached the ground. Lids began to droop, yet, this urge she resisted, she was only content when she knew that Crucifix was content as well. Hazel spheres gazed up at the form above her, embarrassment quite obvious.

.The fountains mingle with the river. .And the rivers with the ocean.
Indeed the winds blew slow and the night seemed to play it's own sweet lullaby as the distant trees rippled with the movement of the dancing wind. Ay, the night was a bleak time, but also a time of remembering and deceiving. So long it seemed it had been when he had let out on his own... but in reality it hadn't been so long so far ago.
Now he stood here, Beta under the Alpha Sun Chaser. Perhaps fate did have the upper hand of knowing and saw all that would come to be. Perhaps all were just actors on the stage of life, putting of a show that was ever playing for all to see. So much in detail and so much remembering, it seemed to real to be so far. But everything was playing on key and the time had barely slipped. Fate granted him a friend... a love... he hoped anyway.
Crucifix felt the warmth of Caballo leave him as she moved into the grotto and reclined to the earth. He had beaten about the bush with his feelings... wondering if she had read him or not... What if she didn't feel the same? He still felt she did... yet neither of them had said anything. He remembered his dam singing of such times, Never be afraid to show your heart. And still he was nervous...
Pools mingled over Caballo as she laid her boa down to rest, but her lids didn't shut. He could see she was weary, but content on watching him as he stood above her. He smiled to her as his serpentine lowered. He walked around the resting femme and stopped behind her. Gently, his maw ran along her nape as he took in her familiar scent again. Biting his nerve, he moved his maw close to her aud again and whispered in soft tones.
Rest now, I'll be watching... I love you.
From within his ribcage then something erupted. Like a cage that was there that finally broke free. What broke free... he knew now. For within the unexpected comes sacrifice, and he held that to his name as he mingled over what the day had brought and what would be of the future... For now he had only to keep the Beta Femora safe, and safe she would be.
Crucifix debated a moment whether to sleep standing or lying down... lying down was more comfortable, but he felt more alert standing up. Decisions, decisions... but deciding not to think of himself, but of Caballo, he moved himself around Caballo again so he was still close and let his joints lock for the night. His aquamarine pools flickered as their lids slipped every once in a while. He still watched Caballo, but he felt the urge of sleep far entruding. Yet his harks remained at a constant swivel while he relaxed. If something should stumble upon the cliff so late at night, they would not be welcomed so if disturbance and harm flowed in their veins.

.Theres Not A Star In Heaven That We Can't Reach. .If We're Trying, So We're Breaking Free.
The lyrics struck her with almost invisible power, well at least power that no other equus could possibly feel. Caballo felt the urge to tell him the same, but, she couldn't. She didn't have the power to admit her emotions, even if another had just done the same. Regardless of knowing that he felt the same, it just felt way to awkward. Like she had found Crucifix and felt a deep connection, but then, he wasn't actually the one. Or he was just pretending to get close to her. All these possiblities cast a shadow over her. There was only one thing that she knew was true, she should admit her feelings before it's too late, far too late.
Weariness came over her and her lids fluttered until they moved no more. Yet, the unsatisfied desire kept her up, and far from her dreams that she wished so deeply to enjoy. She just couldn't do it. She couldn't leave this matter unresolved. For what if in the morning when she woke up, Crucifix was not looking over her and it was the last time they saw each other. The thought was unbearable. As much as rest was needed, she just had to do this, it was something that needed to be satisfied.
It was time to take a chance and hope for the best regardless of what had been said earlier. For all she knew, he could have changed his mind and she would look like a fool in front of him. Then again, who cared? She did, but that was about it. Lids opened as her weary muscles began to object to any sudden movement. Yet, she wasn't about to give up. Finally, joints gave in as she came to an unstable stand still. Inching closer to him, she felt a familiar warm and a familiar confidence rush over her. She had never felt so confident in her entire life. Librums lifted to his auditory as he had done so many times to her. A soft whisper escaped her as warm tones moved out of her parted librums.
I love you too.
Finally, she could rest at ease. Yet, she had no intention of leaving his side. Strides pulled her back, while her dial lowered, until it rested on Crucifix's shoulder. Lids fluttered to a close as she was almost at once swept into a dream, one that she would remember forever. Or maybe she ment this experience. Or maybe this whole thing was a dream, but all she could hope was that, it wasn't.

.Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me. .Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee.
Flashings of sight praised into the sky, for within the dark of night there seemed to be a ribbon ever unfurling yet lacing the souls of two together. The easing of the time and the gentility of the cause, all led much belief between reality and dream. How sudden all happened and how wonderful all the same, he'd never let it go for a moment later.
Crucifix was weary within he sensed, yet he felt the strength that he had never know before... the strength to do much adeu before it was all said and done. His audits were in tacked still and caught the whispering sound of the movement behind him. Pools parted open a moment and caught the sight of Caballo rising beside him. Her warmth was familiar and marked in his memory forever as hers and hers alone, but puzzled for a moment he was. He sensed her weariness and saw her unstable stand, but her maw came to his auds this time.
And the world seemed to breath with life all about him. So she did feel the same. Their hearts were indeed timed together... a relieving smile flew across his maw as he felt her rest against his shoulder and he supported her. His serpentine swept behind him and gently nuzzled her as she dreamt. He felt bad for a moment that he had been at fault for making her stand, but he was glad to have her company... he would take no others.
Rest my love... may your dreams hold the beauty of a thousands sun as you do in my heart... he whispered as his own pool lids closed for the night.
The light of tomorrow would bring forth a new day and the Betas of Mountain Miracle would be there to welcome it. He still was getting accompanied to the term 'Betas', so long it seemed it had been just himself. Change had come and time eased it into place. Like a missing puzzle piece from a grand picture, everything was coming together. And as sure as the day, there would be more to come, but it would all come after the new tomorrow.

.Living In My Own World. .Didn't Understand.
The golden sun began to lift from the horizon line. Colors streaked the atmosphere, crimson, orange, rose and gold. They mixed together, as the wonderful colors seeped into the grove where the beta's tending to their slumbers. Colors splashed across the sun kissed fae's pelt, before reaching for the steed beside her. Night was over, now it was the short celebration for light, were the pure members ventured out to find that all score equines were far from sight, trying to escape the powerful grasp of the sun.
Fae stirred, before her lids opened, greeted by the wonderful sights, the beauty was to obvious to say, but most would say it anyway. Yet, her concentration lasted for a very short time, before her attention was drawn to Crucifix. Affection raced through her as pistons lifted, bringing her closer to him, if that was even possible. Optics were flooded with her deep emotion, that she already knew was timed the same with Crucifix's, she just took alittle longer to get it out.
Caballo was quite glad that she had done so last night. For one thing, she wouldn't have been able to dream without Crucifix by her side. For another she couldn't stand not telling him, she probably wouldn't have stayed long then. She would have left, unable to stand the emotion, the emotion of guilt for not telling him the same. For leaving true love that she had finally felt. Fae had not regretts, for right now, she felt so blissful, this was the most bliss she had felt in awhile. She wasn't about to leave it, she was staying along for the ride, for better, or for worse.

.Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song. .List while I woo thee with soft melody.
A stirring about his bod caught his senses in a snare, but was it a reality? So much was the color in the visions he saw, he could hardly tell. Yet poollids gave a flicker and in his mind a voice whispered, Awaken young one... it is a new day.... Ah yes, the song of his dam, Today is yours... breath and embrace... it is a new day.... Why such songs were tied into his memoria he couldn't tell. There was much that was a mystery and would remain a mystery for life had planned it that way.
Allowing poollids a moment, he let the morning breeze chill his windbags as he clasped the first breath. Sharp and fresh, he shuddered a moment, feeling the tinge of night leaving his bod. Then his poollids flickered again and flew open. Azule lanterns dashed about the skye as the morning display of glory arose. Yes the sun, forever a lantern for those who sought it most... for the Herd... for all.
The sensation of muscles came to him as he realized he had slept standing, muscles locked down on his joints during the nights rest, but there was something different this morning. There was not only sets of pied pillars, but golden ones... and a familiar warmth on his blade. Boa churned and stared to the vision still resting about him. So he wasn't dreaming... she was here... he smiled watching her stir too in the morning light, her pelt aglow in more rays of colors that he had ever known to see. He let his muzzle draw along her nape as his joints retook the life they lost during the sleep.
How was your rest, love? he whispered.
The words felt strange to him, but only from unuse... how that would soon change. Crown pulled back and stared Caballo down a moment, taking her in again. For a moment he was afraid to blink, afraid she would vanish, but a moment later and he was eased. For within his heart he knew a part of her rested just as within her, a piece of him resided for an eternity.

.Your Irresistible.
Fae was drowsy and weary, it seemed as though only bliss was keeping her awake. The future was bright and welcoming, beckoning her forth. There was one thing that was different about going forward, she was actually willing this time. Caballo wanted to find out the future and how life would unfold in this relationship. How she hoped that it would last forever, but that was nearly impossible. Soon enough one of them might not stay faithful. One of them might stray from the path that the two had started. It was more likely to be her than Crucifix, seeing as she still wished for her freedom, regardless of the relationship. At the moment, she felt as though nothing could pull the two apart, like she wanted to be pulled away from him.
Librums nudged softly at his multi-coloured boa. She really aught to reply, for just ignoring his question would make her seem rude, and that was far from what she wanted to be considered. Affection seemed to leave her completely speechless, completely speechless. Even when she had told him the truth, it had been just slightly embarrassing, okay, well, really embarrassing. She was so surprised at herself for taking that chance, for trusting herself to say the right lyrics. I guess when you are in the moment, the right lyrics just flow, they don't need control at all. Librums parted, while her sweet whisper moved into the surrounding, hardly able to life her voice any higher.
It couldn't have been better, love. How was yours?

.Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea. .Mermaids are chaunting the wild lorelie.
Stilts finally regained strength as limbs unlocked and weight was dispersed again of the mascus bod. Bending boa down the the terra, he snorted as his muscles stretched from the long nights rest. Whipcord whisked at his hind quarts and his daggs dug into the gaia with the fresh promise of a new day hanging over him. Crown raised again as scenters charged and brought in the scent of the longing verde's that grew along the cliff. Pools brimmed as the sun began it's slow climb on the sky, allowing more view to the lands below.
Below there lay the forests and plains, the lone cabin and the dark peaks in the distance. Yes there was a darkness. This darkness he didn't know what to think of. It angered him somewhat... but the business of it was beyond him. For here was a creature of much more importance than a steed raging on revenge in the darkness of the abyss.
I slept well. It's very tranquil up here on the cliff. he answered as he took a pace or so forward to get his limbs used to the movement again. Nares flared again as the tempting scent of vegetation billowed near him again. Pools fixed on the lengthy blades moving out of the grotto along the clifff before crown turned to stare back to Caballo.
Are you hungry this morning, love? he called gently.

.Everytime We Touch.
That was good, at least Crucifix slept good as well. Not saying that Caballo didn't sleep well, actually, that was the complete opposite. It's just, something didn't feel right. Not between the couple, but in the air, the atmosphere. It felt as if, even though the darkness had disappeared, the darks where indeed still lurking, and not far down the mountain where they usually stayed, but unusually close. Movements brought her closer to Crucifix, closer to safety. Today was a day of staying close together, never leaving one for too long, for in an instant, they could be gone, without one single last word.
Auditories pricked forth, unable to stop herself from being alert. Heart pounded faster, even though she knew that her safety was close by. She couldn't help it though, no one could if this unsettling was upon them. Nazzles widened twice their size, as she inhaled, mainly to sort scents, but also to satisfy an urge. Why was she fretting, when she was in the presence of her love, who would never leave her like this? Well, it's just because you never know. Business might come up, or the claiming of other femmes might urge a stag to leave. Worried lyrics emitted from her librums. What if she was the only one who felt this?
Yes, I am she stated, quite preoccupied. Yet, the tasty greenery caught her attention and all worry disappeared from her rigid bodice. Do you... never mind.

.Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart. .E'en as the morn on the streamlet and sea.
The sweet morning seemed to seep in and out of the blood of the stag. It was a treasure he knew he didn't share alone. For down in the mountain vale other families sprawled. And even on the cliff, he had Caballo at his side. The gentle breeze filtered against the painted shine of the mount and the cascades of rock above them towered as it gained a glist of ivory to it.
How Crucifix's pools could hardly take it all in. Such a grace it was to live... yet there was still a shadow in the back of his mind. Since the night before, he could hardly push it away... but what would dare happen in such broad daylight? Whisking the sense away, the stag felt the warming presence of Caballo return to him as he scanned the vegetation about him. He glanced to her, wondering if she sensed it too... perhaps it was just his protective nature kicking in... but there was always the chance too...
Do I what? Crucifix laughed lightly listening to Caballo start and quickly back away in song. Is there something bothering you?
His pools pulled away from the verde blades as he watched Caballo a moment to see if she'd speak more. Perhaps she had sensed his apprehension a moment ago... perhaps she felt it too, but perhaps again there was something else she wished to know. Whatever it was, whatever she asked if she would ask again, the auds of the Beta were turned into her. For when you Lady speaks, all attention is given and wouldn't release until she was finished. Gently he touched her cheek and swayed a moment away, staring along the mountain, but eagerly returning his pools to her.
.Then will all clouds of sorrow depart. .Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me.
